About:
This volunteer's responsibility is to start the initial outreach to residents that have found permanent housing to check in and offer resources and support if needed. Volunteers will be provided with a general script, a list of questions to ask and a list of resources to offer. This is a remote volunteer role. Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must be personable but able to maintain boundaries
  • Must complete the After ACCESS volunteer training
  • Must log volunteer hours inside our volunteer platform
  • Must have access to a computer, phone and email account
  • Must know how to use Microsoft Office
Impact:
Volunteers help ACCESS improve our capacity to serve our clients. You will help ACCESS improve the quality of services provided by assisting previous clients and reducing recidivism back into homelessness. You will have a significant impact on helping folks in your community! Volunteers will gain valuable skills and training that can be added to their professional resumes.

Description

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ACCESS?

  • To provide emergency shelter services for women and children.
  • To link women and existing resources in the community.
  • To aid in the attainment of an independent future.
  • To assist in alleviating the situation that caused them to seek emergency shelter.
Women may be in need of emergency shelter for many reasons including eviction, unemployment, transiency, utility disconnections and all types of crisis circumstances.
