As an AmeriCorps Senior Volunteer serving as little as five hours a week, you will make a huge difference in the lives of children who need a little extra attention and assistance in school.

You can have a profound and lasting impact on children in the following ways:

  1. Mentoring and Role Modeling: As a mentor and positive role model, your guidance, support, and encouragement will help children navigate challenges and develop important life skills.

  2. Academic Support: By providing one-on-one or small group assistance, your personalized attention will boost children's confidence and enhance their overall academic performance.

  3. Social and Emotional Development: Your contributions will have a lasting impact on children's social and emotional development. By fostering positive relationships and creating a nurturing environment, children will feel valued and supported, leading to increased self-esteem, resilience, and empathy.

  4. Exposure to New Experiences: Through your interactions, children will gain new experiences, perspectives, and opportunities they may not otherwise encounter. This exposure will broaden their horizons, stimulate curiosity, and encourage exploration.

As a volunteer, you will play a crucial role in enriching the lives of children by providing them with the extra attention, guidance, and support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
