HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre provides a haven of support and resources for individuals and families affected by cancer. As part of our holistic approach to well-being, we are seeking compassionate and skilled volunteers to serve as Meditation Instructor. Meditation offers profound benefits for individuals navigating the challenges of cancer, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and emotional well-being. Volunteers in this role will facilitate guided meditation sessions tailored to the unique needs of our community members.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate Meditation Sessions: Lead guided meditation sessions designed to help participants relax, reduce stress, and cultivate mindfulness.
Create a Supportive Environment: Foster a safe and nurturing space where individuals affected by cancer feel comfortable exploring meditation practices.
Adapt Sessions: Tailor meditation techniques to accommodate participants' varying needs, abilities, and preferences, considering factors such as physical limitations or emotional sensitivities.
Provide Education: Offer brief explanations of meditation concepts and techniques, empowering participants to understand and integrate mindfulness practices into their daily lives.
Encourage Participation: Motivate participants to engage in meditation regularly and provide gentle encouragement to support their journey towards improved well-being.
Listen and Support: Be attentive to participants' concerns and experiences, offering empathetic support and guidance as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
- Background Check
- Must be at least 18
- Orientation or Training
- Flexible, with classes typically scheduled on weekdays during daytime or early evening hours. Volunteers are expected to commit to a minimum of 1.5 hours per week or month, depending on availability.
- Certification or significant experience in meditation, mindfulness, or related practices. Sensitivity to the needs of individuals affected by cancer and the ability to provide compassionate support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
