Consider volunteering as a session monitor at PSGA’s South Sound Funders Forum, and you’ll attend the entire event at no cost.
The Forum is Friday, December 6th, from 9:00 am to 11:45 am, with session monitors joining at 8:30 am for setup.
If you’re interested, we're actively recruiting volunteers in November. Please respond to this VolunteerMatch post or email psga@grantwriters.org by November 22nd.
As a session monitor, you’ll support a funder or presenter through their four sessions, giving you a chance to connect directly and learn from them. You’ll also have access to an online training before the event, plus all recorded sessions afterward for further insights (for a limited time).
As a session monitor, you will fill the following roles:
- Recorder - Ensure recording has turned on.
- Timekeeper - Ensure that sessions start and end roughly on time, and request that participant introductions be relatively brief
- Chat Monitor/Zoom coach - Monitor chat and respond to any requests for help with Zoom functions (such as how to enter new screen name)
- Intervener - Speak up quickly (out loud) if someone can’t be heard
- Tech support bridge - Notify PSGA tech team of any issues that you can’t solve
- Photographer - Take a least one photo or screen shot during the session to share with the PSGA marketing committee.
- Video Recommender - At the end, select one session you would recommend be distributed to attendees (based on quality of presentation and Q&A).
- Thanker - Email a thank you to your funder after the event
Please note: It is fully up to the funder to decide how to run a session, including how to divide up the time. While you will be the face of PSGA for your funder’s sessions, you are not a facilitator or convener.
