As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization, ACCO is seeking passionate volunteers to help provide a range of social services to underserved Asian seniors in the local NYC community. We are looking for volunteers who can be the graphic designer (flyers, posters, brochures, certificates, etc.) for our senior community events, social benefits program, and community lecture.
Service Impact:
Your services will help deliver valuable health-related info and social benefits programs to our community members, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
Skills required:
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop or other software)
- Basic Chinese communication skills (verbal, reading, writing)
- Responsible and respectful towards elderly members
Flexible. Tasks will be assigned based on the schedule of our community programs. The estimated frequency is 1 task per month. Once a task is assigned, we expect volunteers to complete it within one week (including first draft, feedback & revisions, and final version).
Volunteer Hours Offered:
3+ hours upon completion of each graphic design task.

- Tasks will be assigned based on the schedule of different community programs. The estimated frequency is 1 task per month.
- Once a task is assigned, we expect volunteers to complete it within one week.
- We expect volunteers to submit a draft in the middle of the one-week time frame for our staff to review and give feedback. Volunteers will then revise and finalize the graphic design per our staff's feedback.
- We have an easy-to-navigate branding toolkit and various graphic design samples for volunteers to refer to when completing their tasks.

Asian Community Care Organization (ACCO) is a peer-driven, community-based nonprofit organization that improves the health and well-being of underserved Asian community members, especially seniors, through advocacy, services, and referrals.
Description
As a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, ACCO plays a crucial role in addressing the health-related social needs of the local Asian community. With our compassion, innovation, and commitment, we strive to help people live better lives and build a stronger community.
We offer a range of services and collaborate with over 60 partners to help our members assess their social needs and navigate available community resources, including food assistance and housing. Additionally, we work with local health home programs to provide remote and home-based care management services, improving the quality of life for those we serve.
We offer an innovative tool for seniors to easily monitor their physical and mental health parameters through our WeCare Communicator mobile app. We engage them in health seminars, promoting preventive care services, mental health, healthy diet, chronic disease management, etc. to reduce risks that contribute to unnecessary visits to the emergency room and/or hospitalization.
Join our senior social community to connect, learn, and exercise with others from the comfort of your home.
