Are you a pre-med student interested in gaining experience in the hospice field? This is a great opportunity to have direct patient contact while learning about hospice care.
We are in need of caring volunteers who would like to make a difference in the lives of people facing the end of their life throughout the community. We are also looking for compassionate people to help on our inpatient hospice unit in Wauwatosa, WI, working directly with patients and nurses.
We can offer you hospice educational sessions, a chance to listen and participate in our Interdisciplinary Group meetings, shadowing experiences, and letters of recommendation.
Our volunteers are full members of our hospice team and often form close ties with the patient and their family. In our Volunteer Orientation class you will understand some of the challenges that face patients and families and ways you can bring quality of life and compassionate care to them.
As a hospice volunteer you will learn about the hospice philosophy, communicating with patients and families, family dynamics, spiritual care and the grief process.
Please consider joining our team as we honor life and offer hope to those who need us most.
