Host Families for International Students
ORGANIZATION: CIEE
Please visit the new page to apply.
A host family for a J1 student is a family that welcomes an international student into their home and provides a place to live during their study program in the United States. The J1 student exchange program is designed to promote cultural exchange by allowing international students to experience the American way of life and culture firsthand. Host families are responsible for providing a safe and comfortable home for the J1 student, including a private room, meals, and access to basic necessities. In addition to providing room and board, host families are also expected to provide cultural experiences for the student, such as inviting them to family outings and activities, introducing them to American customs, and generally acting as a resource and support system during the student's stay in the US.
