Join us as a reading tutor and make an impact with Club youth! We’re recruiting volunteers to work with kids who are not yet reading at grade level. No prior experience needed!

What is the program?

This winter and spring, selected Clubs are offering a one-on-one tutoring program for elementary-age readers. We're teaming up with a national organization with proven results, Reading Partners, who provide the curriculum and training. This volunteer role will be fun and fulfilling!

Volunteers will be working with youth at our North Seattle Club (Greenwood), Rotary Club (Central District), and Southwest Club (White Center).

Your Volunteer Role:

  • Work one-on-one with an elementary-aged Club member
  • Attend a 60 minute virtual tutor orientation (sessions are next week on Mon, Feb 26 or Thu, Feb 29)
  • Follow a structured curriculum provided by Reading Partners
  • Commit to about two hours per week from February - June. Tutoring can take place in person or virtual or both.

More details are on our volunteer signup website: http://readingpartners.bgckc.volunteerhub.com/.
