Farmstand work shares play a vital role in welcoming people to the farm with warm greetings, information about the farm, and selling our produce. Workshares commit to one pick-up day per week and in return, receive a CSA veggie share when they work. Farm staff prepare workshares at the beginning of their shift with proper training on procedures, produce, and any special instructions for the day. Requirements for workshares include the ability to lift 50 lbs, work in various weather conditions under a tent, and possess a positive attitude towards creating a sense of community for Brookwood CSA members. Here’s what workshares do during Farm Stand hours:

  • Set up, restock, and break down of farm stand display of produce
  • Provide information about the farm including our crops, and CSA, and relay questions to the farm staff as needed.
  • Handle check-out procedures including weighing produce, and processing payments such as cash, credit, and EBT.

Our season runs for 26 weeks (May 26th- November 23rd) and workshares can choose between spring, summer, fall, or all three seasons on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.

  • Spring is four weeks (weeks of May 26th- June 16th)
  • Summer is fourteen weeks (weeks of June 23rd- September 22nd)
  • Fall is eight weeks (weeks of September 29th- November 17th)

The shift options for the CSA Tent are:

  • Tuesday (1 PM - 7 PM)
  • Thursday (1 PM - 7 PM)
  • Saturday (8 AM - 1:30 PM)
