Hope Healthcare is in need of Pet Therapy Volunteers. What better way to brighten up a hospice patients' day, than a visit from a Volunteer and their pet therapy animal. We're looking for compassionate volunteers that have a heart for hospice and that can provide a weekly/monthly visit to offer emotional support, companionship, etc. Pets must go through an evaluation by one of our trained volunteers/pet evaluators. This is required even if the pet is certified through other organizations. Once the evaluations complete the Volunteer Coordinator will assign times for visits. The visits can take place in the Care Centers, facilities or in a patient’s home

About Hope Healthcare

Location:

9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908, US

Mission Statement

Since 1979, Hope Health Care mission is simple: Delivering extraordinary care to every person we touch in every community we serve. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for every person experiencing serious illness by providing exceptional, comforting care and choices that give hope and meaning to every moment.

Description

Hope Health Care volunteers are a vital part of our entire organization and play an active role in helping to provide the many special comfort and support services that distinguish Hope Health Care.

We provide specialized care for all people with complex needs related to life-changing illness through our unique services. Our volunteers are special, but not out of the ordinary. They are regular people just like you. They use common sense and understanding. They do not need a medical background. They listen. They care. Volunteers help make a patient's life more fulfilling and satisfying by giving their time, understanding, and support and asking nothing in return. They also provide support to caregivers who are often with the patient 24/7 and may need a much-needed break. If direct care is not for you, you can assist with administrative tasks at our office locations and help out with events and community outreach. Any Hope Health Care volunteer will tell you that they feel they receive more from their experience than they give. Hope's volunteers serve all of southwest Florida, caring for many people in many special ways. Our love and commitment is focused on each individual. We are dedicated to meeting the specific needs of each person.
