Music & Dance Project in our schools in Ghana is ideal for volunteers with an interest in the field of music or performing arts. This exciting project allows volunteers to get involved in various aspects of the music.

Africa is one of the most culturally diverse continent in the world, and music and dance provide our people with an unmistakable flavor. Whether you are on a gap year or a career break, volunteering to teach music and dance gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge with underprivileged students through community outreach programs.

As a volunteer or Interns on the Music & Dance Project, you can choose any two of the following areas:

  • Teaching Music
  • Music Production
  • Artist Management
  • Teaching Dance (ballet and modern)
  • Helping with community outreach Programs

Please let us know which two options you choose when you apply.

Teaching Music

Volunteers or Interns have the option to teach music to orphans or students ages between 3 to 20, in Good Shepherd or a college. You will be able to teach them how to play a musical instrument, provide vocal training and also help them understand basic music theory. Volunteers work Mondays, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday during school hours.

. You have the option to focus on the instrument of your choice and you may teach them any aspect of music.

Singing is also popular among the students and many of them are part of a small choir. If you have experience in singing or choir-directing.

Teaching Dance

If dance is your preference, you have the opportunity to teach ballet or modern dance to them.

Community Outreach Program

Africa is home to a number of disadvantaged communities that lack resources and therefore the opportunity for locals to learn or grow in the field of music or dance. As a volunteer you have the chance to teach music or dance where it is needed. Rooms for singles, couples and families avialable.Much to enjoy as far as tourism is concern.

OUR ACCOMMODATION , MEALS AND AMENITIES

Volunteers or Interns are accommodated in volunteer houses and you chose to share or not to share a room. Free wifi , swimming pool and a gym for volunteers. we recommend volunteers to bring their own towel and toiletries. The accommodation is safe and secure with the houses located in a safe area in town near the community where volunteers work. Living is comfortable and the volunteer houses have electricity and running water with Western toilets.

our volunteers receive three meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and meals served in the volunteer house are typically Western-style. Breakfast consists of self-serve tea, coffee, toast and cereal. At breakfast time, volunteers are also provided with food for making a sandwich as a packed lunch for their project, this is particularly important for Teaching volunteers to note, as your day usually ends after lunch. Dinner consists of dishes containing meat, vegetables and a starch, such as potatoes, bread or pasta. Bottled water is readily available in Cameroon or Ghana and you should budget approximately US$2 per week for this (5 liters per day), however tap water is fine to drink in the volunteer houses and most other areas. If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know as we program and make arrangements for you. However, we need to stress the point that you should expect to eat more as you normally do at home. We will do our best to see that you are well taken care of, but also as a volunteer.
