Volunteers Sought: Art in The Loop, April 15-27, 2025.
Volunteers are needed to help direct the success of Art in the Loop, 2025. We appreciate any assistance, but commitments of at least three hours are the most helpful.
Art in The Loop takes place on Ridgeway Loop Road (between Briarcrest Avenue & Ridge Bend Rd.).
The tasks for which volunteers are sought are as follows:
Friday (8:30am to 1:00pm):
Event Set Up: close street; register artists & help artists find their spaces; set up tents, tables & chairs, post signage
Friday (1p -6p), Saturday (10a - 6p), & Sunday (11a -4p), During Event:
Sanitation: policing the event site for litter, removing trash containers to designated areas, sanitizing the tables at food trucks.
Artist Relations: booth-sitting for artists (to allow them to take a quick break from their tent), delivering water bottles to artists’ booths
Musical performance production: meeting performers at designated times, directing them to parking, showing them where to set up, helping to set up chairs for performers, etc.
Communications: staffing our information desk, coordinating fulfillment of requests for booth sitters, shooting photos and posting to social media
Sunday (4 pm to 7:00pm)
Breaking down the event: directing traffic (i.e. permitting artists to drive on to the site to remove their displays & keeping other traffic out), removal of equipment used by ArtWorks Foundation and event sponsors, trash removal & general clean-up.
To Recap:
Event set up begins Friday April 12th at 8:30am. The event is open to the public during the following hours: FR Noon to 6pm; SA 10am to 6pm; SU 11am to 4pm: with event removal from on Sunday from 4pm to 8:30pm.
Per the dates and time slots shown above, we need people who are interested in helping with:
Production (helping to direct artists and traffic during event set up & removal)
Artist Assistance (Both sitting to give artists breaks during the show, and/or delivering water)
Communications (staffing our information desk)
Volunteers are asked to work a three (3) hour shift, or as many more hours as they find comfortable.
Clothing should be comfortable; jeans and sneakers fine (this is not a dressy event)
This 7th annual edition of Art in the Loop, the art festival in east Memphis, will feature talented artists working in metal, glass, wood, clay, & fiber; plus, jewelry, paintings, photography, and more! We’ll also offer guests the fare of some of the town’s top food trucks, and performances of classical music by area youth ensembles.

ArtWorks Foundation is a 501{c}3 non-profit focused on helping artists grow, in their business and their work, through programs including exhibitions and education initiatives.
Description
We stage events to provide fine-craft artsists with a broader market for their work. We also award scholarships for advanced study workshops at schools for Fine-Craft, and are working to establish an endowment to fund Emergency Relief Grants to help area artists resume careers derailed by disasters or catastrophic illness.
