Would you like to contribute a few hours a month to help our organization? The Black Health Commission needs help with graphic design projects to promote our programming. At times, we need to design flyers for our community engagement initiatives (BLK JOY Festival, Village Talks, volunteer opportunities, etc). On other occasions, we need infographics and special images for digital education on our social media platforms.

The work would be performed entirely at your home (or office) and you should be a creative person with professional experience. The graphic designer will work closely with the volunteer-led Black Health Commission staff. The person in this role will ideally volunteer through October 2024 and can potentially receive credit (volunteer hours or internship credit).

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develop and design flyers for social media and event registration platforms
  • Collaborate with Black Health Commission staff for an iterative design process
  • Have access to and familiar with graphic design platforms like Adobe Suite and Canva
  • Collaborate with Black Health Commission staff and attend evening meetings
  • Conceptualize visuals based on brand identity and target audiences
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-motivated to complete work on varying timelines and meet deadlines
  • Website design and development is a plus!
  • Interest in social media management is a plus!

If interested in sharing your talent for a good cause, please send a message and sample materials to kassandra@blackhealthcommission.com
