Job Purpose
As a Layout Artist/ Designer, you’ll be involved in the graphical, branding, and marketing aspects of designs for posts, flyers, and anything, producing mainly the look of our next printed brochure and social media posts and determining how it captures the audience’s attention and generates results- donations and even volunteers. You are also responsible for collaborating with social media assistant(s) and constructing effective nonprofit campaigns. You’ll need to ensure that designs are attractive and effective. For this purpose, you’ll have to test and play around with new design and campaign trends to see what works best for the brand. Your role is crucial to the reputation and image of the organization.


Key responsibilities

1. Collaboration- You will not work alone. You will be supported by a group of volunteers working on the same projects.
2. Assigned Tasks - Reviewing and replying to activity in your Slack as well as reviewing your assigned project/section to complete any priority tasks.
3. Designing - Your first and foremost responsibility is to create designs and pages for website, print and social media. You will create promotional materials by producing layout, design and copywriting. You will be using Canva, Illustrator, InDesign, and/or Photoshop for this purpose.
4. Advising - You’ll advise the social media team on new trends and usage of new particular designs and/or visuals you produce.
5. Maintenance - You’re required to maintain and update the brand’s image on social platforms. Establish and promote design guidelines, best practices and standards.
6. Research - You’re required to research current design trends in order to keep the social platforms appealing and up-to-date.
7. Testing - To ensure the working of the campaigns, you’re required to test it regularly at different stages.
