Mission Statement

Good Spirit Horsemanship Center is a therapeutic horsemanship program serving participants with unique cognitive, physical, social, and emotional qualities. Our mission is to share the meaningful and therapeutic benefit of connecting with horses and provide an inclusive safe space for our students.

Description

Good Spirit recently opened in the Corralits area, located at a quaint barn tucked in an apple orchard. We're on our way to reaching our one-year anniversary and couldn't be more thrilled that we are here doing amazing work with our community. None of this would be possible without our amazing herd of horses and our dedicated community of volunteers.

Our goal is to continue our mission to help others and build our community with the help of volunteers like you who are passionate about helping others and love horses.

Currently, our program has about 20 volunteers who help with all things from horse care and assisting therapeutic lessons, to marketing and community outreach.

Our horse care team helps with the daily routine at the barn with feeding, mucking, turnout, and filling waters. Volunteers that support our therapeutic lessons get to work with horses and students hands-on.

For those interested in getting involved, horse experience is not required. We provide training and love to educate our community on all things horses. When we train our volunteers we aim to maintain safety PATH Intl. standards and value the importance of everyone feeling welcomed, comfortable, and confident in their roles.
