Veteran to Veteran Hospice Support - Sun City Area
ORGANIZATION: Hospice of the West
Please visit the new page to apply.
Hospice of the West is a proud partner with We Honor Veteran. We hold the highest level a hospice organization may achieve - Level 5. We focus strongly on Veteran support, education, and opportunities for staff and volunteers. We focus on several areas:
- Veteran-to-Veteran: Veterans are matched with a Veteran patient or caregiver. This is an opportunity to provide conversation, companionship, and support to these individuals.
- Gift of Presence: Veterans hold vigil with a dying Veteran, so no Veteran dies alone.
- Veteran Pinning: Veterans provide support at a special ceremony that recognizes Veterans in the community in addition to our Veteran patients.
- Veteran Cafe: Veterans provide support with hosting gatherings for Veterans in independent and assisted living facilities.
Hospice of the West was founded in 2010 with the mission to provide quality of life at the end of life. No request is too small, and no health need is too large for our specialized staff. Hospice of the West proudly serves Maricopa County, Arizona. You will have the opportunity to create a true impact with individuals who are underneath our care.
To ensure we continue to do what is right for the patient and community, Hospice of the West requires a drug and background screening and recent TB test. Furthermore, Hospice of the West will require all volunteers to complete onboarding modules.
