Recruiting Organization: Art in Tanzania

Summary

Art in Tanzania helps small community clinics in the villages and larger hospitals. Tanzania's healthcare is missing professional medical staff. You can assist in developing healthcare, but you also get great experience working in a developing country with limited medical facilities.

Details

Art in Tanzania, a community medical support team works in Dar es Salaam. In the Madale village medical support program, we can combine small village clinics with larger hospitals.

The public health program focuses on helping and educating the village communities about nutrition, sports and exercise, art therapy, sustainability, and other fields.

Typical hospital clinical work placement includes:

1. Internal medicine

2. Paediatrics

3. Obstetrics

4 Gynaecology

5 Emergency

6 Radiology

7 Laboratory

8 Ambulance

9 Psychiatry

10 Psychology

11 Orthopaedic

12 Ent

13 Pharmacy

14 CTC

Tanzanian pharmacies are far from Western standards. Specifically, small village pharmacies need training and advocacy to develop their prototypes.

The medical program also includes HIV/AIDS counselling, advocacy, testing, and events for raising awareness.

The internship outcome is to learn to use your studies and experience to work in a developing country's conditions.

Work hours are 6-8 hours per day, Monday through Friday. Your program can be from 2 weeks to 12 months. Commonly, an internship is 2-3 months long. The placement starting dates are flexible.

Academic-level team leaders supervise your internship daily. We monitor your work with a weekly plan and report system to ensure you proceed well with your tasks.

We can take students in all year round as all programs are ongoing. Your placement is tailored to your background, experience, and interests to empower your daily work with the community.

You can also conduct the thesis, related tasks, and internship placement.

The typical morning tasks include practical fieldwork in the schools and communities, and afternoons are for planning, reporting, and social media visibility functions.

The Benefits and Perks are as follows:

Accommodation with breakfast and dinner is EUR 175 per week and is a personal expense. However, the cost drops to EUR 125 weekly after the first 13 weeks.

Airport transfers from and to EUR 120 are a personal expense.

Flights are a personal expense.

The local transport program in Tanzania is a personal expense but small if needed.

You and your visiting friends can enjoy low-cost, sustainable tours and safaris.
