We are looking for volunteer "Peer Leaders" to lead our Project Healthy Bones (PHB) exercise and education class. Class are held morning and afternoons Monday-Thursday at various locations in Hamilton, Lawrenceville and Trenton.
PHB is a health and wellness exercise program for individuals over the age of 60 who are at risk of or who have osteoporosis. Classes are 1 hour and 15 minute in length.
What is required:
- This is an unpaid position
- Volunteers are expected to commit to attend, lead or monitor at least 1 class per week
- Volunteers must be at least 21 years old
- Agree to background/motor vehicle check, covered by Interfaith Caregivers
- Mandatory 2-session training is required (two 3-hour sessions)

Mission Statement
Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County (ICGMC), an interfaith coalition, is dedicated to promoting the independence, dignity and wellness of homebound elderly and people with disabilities by matching them with caring volunteers who assist with the tasks of everyday life.
Description
Interfaith Caregivers of Greater Mercer County was established in 1994 with a "Faith in Action" grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. For over two decades we have worked to improve the quality of life and help meet the concerns and special needs of underserved, homebound elderly and adults with disabilities in Mercer County, New Jersey.
Our interdenominational coalition of 30 congregations and over 400 trained volunteers provide support and education that enables care-receivers to remain in their homes. All services and programs are offered free-of-charge without proselytization and without regard to race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or income.
