CHOICE HOSPICE, A LEADING PROVIDER OF COMPASSIONATE END-OF-LIFE CARE, IS SEEKING DEDICATED AND EMPATHETIC INDIVIDUALS TO JOIN OUR TEAM AS HOSPICE VOLUNTEERS IN TYLER, TEXAS. AS A HOSPICE VOLUNTEER, YOU WILL PLAY A CRUCIAL ROLE IN PROVIDING SUPPORT, COMPANIONSHIP, AND ASSISTANCE TO PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES DURING THEIR HOSPICE JOURNEY. YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MAKE A MEANINGFUL DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THOSE FACING END-OF-LIFE CHALLENGES.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. PROVIDE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT AND COMPANIONSHIP TO HOSPICE PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
2. ASSIST WITH NON-MEDICAL TASKS
3. ENGAGE IN MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS AND ACTIVELY LISTEN TO PATIENTS' STORIES AND EXPERIENCES.
4. KEEP A UP TO DATE BINDER OF DIRECT OR INDIRECT SERVICE FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES.
5. PARTICIPATE IN RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND PROVIDE COMFORT MEASURES, SUCH AS READING, PLAYING MUSIC, OR PAINTING NAILS.
6. ATTEND VOLUNTEER TRAINING SESSIONS AND ORIENTATIONS TO ENHANCE YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS.
7. MAINTAIN PROFESSIONAL BOUNDARIES AND RESPECT PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY AT ALL TIMES.
8. COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY WITH THE HOSPICE CARE TEAM, PROVIDING UPDATES ON PATIENT WELL-BEING.
9. FOLLOW ESTABLISHED PROTOCOLS AND GUIDELINES FOR INFECTION CONTROL AND PATIENT SAFETY.
10. DEMONSTRATE SENSITIVITY AND CULTURAL COMPETENCY IN WORKING WITH DIVERSE POPULATIONS.
11. ADHERE TO ETHICAL STANDARDS AND PROMOTE A POSITIVE WORK ENVIRONMENT

To ensure a smooth onboarding process at Choice Hospice, please prepare the following documents:

1. Two forms of identification (ID): Please bring two valid forms of identification for verification purposes.

2. Background check: We require a background check to ensure the safety and well-being of our patients and staff.

3. COVID-19 vaccination record: Please provide documentation of your COVID-19 vaccination. If you do not have a vaccination record, religious or medical exemption documentation will be required.

4. Car insurance: If you plan to use your vehicle for any volunteer-related activities, please provide proof of current car insurance.

5. Choice Philosophy Orientation: As part of our commitment to quality care, all volunteers are required to attend the Choice Philosophy Orientation session.
