Family Paths is a non-profit agency serving parents, children and families in Alameda County and beyond with a 24-Hour Parenting Stress Helpline, mental health and a variety of family support services. We actively recruiting for Board members, prioritizing those with a background or expertise in any of the following:

  • Legal
  • HR
  • Real Estate
In addition, we prioritize providing services to members of BIPOC and LGBT+ communities as well as parents including a focus on father focused programming. Board applicants who reflect these communities are strongly encouraged.

Description

The PARENTING STRESS HELPLINE serves parents and caregivers in Alameda County with phone counseling, crisis intervention, information, and referrals to community resources 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We also provide internal referrals to our Positive Parenting Classes, Fatherhood & Co-parenting: Beyond Conflict classes and all of our therapeutic services for children, parents/caregivers and families.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Orientation or Training
  • 2 hours/month for meetings (except August & December), plus some committee work (time commitment depends on the committee). Terms are for 3 years with possibility of serving one additional term.
  • Preferences include: Alameda County (reside or work); BIPOC; LGBTQ+; professional expertise in law, human resources, real estate (also considering tech, social services/health, philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector).
