Position Overview: FLY is seeking a passionate and creative individual to join our team as a Volunteer Empowerment Advocate - Social Media Content Creator. This role is pivotal in amplifying our mission of empowering "at promise youth" through engaging and inspirational content on social media platforms. The volunteer will collaborate closely with FLY leadership to bring our vision to life through compelling visual and written content.

Responsibilities:

  1. Content Creation:

    • Utilize concepts provided by FLY leadership to create visually appealing and engaging social media posts aligned with our organization's mission and values.
    • Develop creative graphics, images, and videos using FLY's Canva Pro account to effectively convey our message of self-love to our audience.
  2. Content Scheduling:

    • Use scheduling tools to plan and organize social media posts in advance, ensuring a consistent and cohesive online presence.
    • Maintain a content calendar to track scheduled posts and coordinate with FLY leadership on upcoming campaigns and initiatives.
  3. Community Engagement:

    • Monitor social media platforms for comments, messages, and mentions related to FLY's content.
    • Respond promptly and professionally to inquiries, comments, and messages, fostering meaningful interactions and engagement with our audience.
  4. Collaboration:

    • Work closely with FLY leadership to understand branding guidelines, messaging strategies, and target audience preferences.
    • Collaborate with the communications team to align social media content with broader organizational goals and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Passion for empowering "at promise youth" and advocating for self-love and positivity.
  • Strong creative skills with experience in graphic design and content creation [preferred]
  • Proficiency in using Canva Pro or similar design tools to produce high-quality visual content [preferred]
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft engaging and compelling copy.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment.
  • Commitment to FLY's mission, vision, and values.

Time Commitment: Varies based on each volunteer
