Position Overview: Chiquita Jackson Enterprise is seeking a qualified and dedicated Volunteer Event Coordinator to play a key role in organizing events that contribute to our content creation needs under our affiliate program Captivating Events By Chi. As a social impact nonprofit, we believe in the power of transformative leadership and youth development to empower marginalized communities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Understand the requirements for each event, aligning them with the organization's mission and goals.
  2. Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints, ensuring successful execution.
  3. Coordinate logistics, including booking venues, scheduling speakers, and managing event operations.
  4. Research vendors (catering, decorators, performers, etc.) and select the best combination of quality and cost.
  5. Conduct final checks on the day of the event, ensuring all aspects meet standards.
  6. Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve any issues that may arise.
  7. Evaluate the success of each event and submit comprehensive reports.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven experience as an event coordinator with a track record of organizing successful events.
  • Problem-solving ability and the capacity to adapt to unforeseen circumstances.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Well-organized with excellent multi-tasking abilities.
