ORGANIZATION: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

EXPLORE, RELAX, AND VOLUNTEER at beautiful J. Strom Thurmond Lake for the summer 2024 season. Stay in a 12-site volunteer-exclusive campground and volunteer in a variety of ways. Opportunities may include: Visitor Center Host, Day Use Area Gatehouse Attendant, Water Safety Program Assistant, and more! Most positions are indoors with air conditioning and involve extensive interaction with the public. Some positions involve operation of government vehicle, light maintenance/restoration, and opportunities to partner with rangers on a variety of projects. In exchange for 20 hours of service per week (individuals) or 34 hours per week (combined, from couples), volunteers are offered paved sites with full hook-ups, free Wi-Fi, and access to a clubhouse with washer/dryer, full kitchen, and more!
