The Read NW program is located at 24 different locations within Clark County, WA to include:

  • 19 Public schools
  • 4 Boys and Girls Clubs
  • 1 Open House Ministries

Visit www.readnw.org to find the nearest location to you.

Volunteers must:

  • Pass a free background check
  • Complete 60-90 minutes of training at the location they've chosen
  • Commit to coming once per week for up to 30 minutes

Volunteers are paired 1:1 with a student who needs literacy support. Reading Mentors meet once a week, at the same time, with the same student and with the same volunteer team so that volunteers are never alone with a student.

These small volunteer teams come to the school during school hours for up to 30 minutes, once per week. Books and learning materials are provided.
