ACH's Mentoring Initiative is a network of supportive volunteers that help young people aging out of foster care by providing a sense of belonging and connection. Volunteer mentors build relationships by participating in group events and activities with teens and young adults at ACH Child and Family Services.

If you are: easy-going and friendly, patient and reliable, a good listener and willing to get out of your comfort zone, you can make a difference for young people aging out foster care!

Mentoring groups meet twice per month on alternating Tuesdays from 7-9 pm in Fort Worth. Volunteers must be at least 25 years old, able to pass a full background check and drug screen, and commit for a minimum of one year.

Mission Statement

Protecting Children. Preserving Families. Since 1915.

Description

We protect children from abuse, neglect and family separation and help children overcome these things when they do happen. Some of our programs keep children and families together, and others provide a healing home for children who can't live with their families. We have more than a century of experience working with children, and we know that the best way to accomplish our mission is to work with families, whenever possible, to strengthen their ability to care for their children.
