Esperanza Community Services is seeking volunteers who have special skills and interests and are willing to donate their time to our participants. Esperanza is a nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Chicago. We are looking for community members to teach our participants and students new skills such as music, yoga, art, etc. or to put on short performances showcasing their skills. The time commitment is flexible and we are willing to accommodate each volunteer's needs! These volunteer opportunities provide our participants the opportunity to explore new hobbies, learn new things and engage with the Chicago community.

Mission Statement

At Esperanza Community Services, our mission is to empower people with developmental disabilities to reach their full potential and lead fulfilling, independent lives. We strive to achieve this through innovative education, effective advocacy, and compassionate support while fostering a supportive community where everyone can thrive.

Description

For over 50 years, Esperanza Community Services has been providing life-changing support to hundreds of children and adults with Autism and other disabilities in the West Town neighborhood of Chicago, along with their families. Our mission is to help individuals achieve their fullest potential and become as independent as possible through a range of services, including adult residential, adult day training, home-based support, art exploration, Esperanza Therapeutic Day School, and Esperanza Learning Center.

Through our programs and services, we help people build academic and life skills that lead to independence, happiness, and a higher quality of life.
