Summary of Position: To provide office administrative and activity assistance for the Visit-A-Bit Program.
Information about Visit-A-Bit and the volunteer responsibilities:
Visit-A-Bit is a volunteer-based program that addresses senior adult loneliness in the Greater St. Louis region. Some volunteer responsibilities for this position will include scanning forms and then saving the forms to the appropriate file, logging program-related information into spreadsheets, copying, typing, program-related research, stuffing envelopes for upcoming mailings, calling senior participants to check on and conducting program screenings, and assisting with planning social events/outlets. Assisting and conducting the program's weekly Tele-Bingo games. Tele-bingo games are on Tuesday from 2-3:00 pm-other office duties as assigned-a possibility to attend new senior home visits with the VAB Manager. Ideally, 5-7 hours of volunteer work each week.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Experience in Microsoft Office & Excel preferred.
Eager to help and learn.
Attention to detail and take direction well.
Positive attitude and time management skills.
Kindness and patience for senior adults.
No physical tasks are required for this position.

Volunteering will occur at the Visiting Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis office at 2029 Woodland Parkway, Suite 105, Maryland Heights, MO 63146.

VNA is a non profit organization and a member of the United Way with a certified volunteer program. Visiting Nurse Association seeks to improve the quality of life for those patients with a life limiting illness for whom the goal is comfort rather than cure thru their hospice division. VNA also provides palliative care -Advanced Illness Management to patients with difficulty leaving home due to serious chronic illness. VNA also provides Care at home through private duty services-VNA CAre at Home.
