About Philly Youth

Location:

1500 Chestnut S., Philadelphia, PA 19102, US

Mission Statement

Philly Youth is a nonprofit organization founded to eliminate the negative stereotypes of surrounding inner-city youth by shining light on the inspiring young people in the community

Description

Philly Youth understands the importance of shedding light on the positive news in Philadelphia. We do that by highlighting the youth ages 25 and under who are making a positive impact on our mobile app, Philly Youth. So far we have highlighted hundreds of youth on our mobile app and social media highlights. Philly Youth also has a travel program. In order for youth to reach their fullest potential, we believe they should be able to experience life outside of Philadelphia. This gives youth the opportunity to broaden their horizons and increase their knowledge. For inner-city teens who have never left Philadelphia's boundaries, this kind of travel outside of their comfort zone can have a profound impact, resetting the course of their lives for the better. We curated our first 7 day tour to Belize and are in the process of recruiting youth for our second trip to Costa Rica in July 2022. Philly Youth also provides community outreach. We have curated annual back to school drives to give back to the community and have provided tutoring services to youth to improve their reading and math skills. Philly Youth looks for strong and dedicated volunteers to help us carry out our mission. We look for individuals who want to become active members of their community and have a long-lasting impact on society at large!
