Bookkeeper (Nonprofit Extraordinaire)
Are you a bookkeeping pro with nonprofit experience and a knack for keeping things running smoothly? The DMV Music Alliance is looking for a detail-oriented bookkeeper to help us track every note, from grant income to tax-deductible expenses. If you love music and spreadsheets equally, this is the role for you!
What You’ll Do
Ensure QuickBooks is set up properly for nonprofit filings.
Track grant income, expenses, and ensure alignment with nonprofit best practices.
Set up classes, categorize transactions, and keep our financials in harmony.
Advise on what’s tax-deductible (and what’s not!).
What You Bring
Experience in bookkeeping for U.S. nonprofits (a must!).
Expertise with QuickBooks and nonprofit accounting standards.
Understanding of nonprofit tax rules, grants, and financial tracking.
Based within the United States. Mid-Atlantic region preferred.
Bonus points if you’re passionate about music or the arts!

Founded by DMV area music professionals FOR area music professionals, the DMV Music Alliance is a grassroots, non-profit, volunteer organization. It’s goals are dedicated to bringing together the organizations and individuals from all facets of the regional music ecosystem, all genres, and all communities across the DMV, so that together we can develop the services, resources, networks, and tools needed for both our regional musicians as well as our regional industry professionals - from every area genre, role in the industry, background, and area - to grow their careers in music here in the DMV.
