Renaissance Social Services' Associate Board Makes an Impact to those in the Greatest Need!

Mission
The Associate Board’s mission is to support and promote Renaissance’s mission and
vision through fundraising, volunteerism, and spreading awareness. We provide support
to the organization, its staff, clients, and Board of Directors and work with a diverse
group of individuals to develop creative solutions to help combat homelessness in
Chicago.

Associate Board members are active, positive members of their communities who are
passionate about increasing visibility of systemic issues, including the lack of resources
for Chicago’s most vulnerable residents and access to clean, safe, affordable housing.
We welcome any individuals who are interested to join us in our effort to make a better
Chicago.

Vision
Develop the Associate Board into a dynamic force of young professionals, propelling
Renaissance Social Services towards our vision of a Chicago without homelessness or
inequities by volunteering, fostering public visibility, increasing donation generation
through events and corporate sponsorships, and optimizing our digital outreach efforts.

About Renaissance Social Services, Inc.

Location:

2501 West Washington Street, Suite 401, Chicago, IL 60612, US

Mission Statement

Renaissance Social Services is changing the lives of individuals and families in Chicago, giving them hope and vision for a new life. By supporting communities and the people who live within them with quality affordable housing, behavioral healthcare, outreach, homeless prevention, compassionate support services and a purposeful focus on racial equity, we provide the opportunity for stability and wellness.

Description

Renaissance Social Services, Inc provides housing and support services for Chicago’s most vulnerable homeless residents. This past year, Renaissance helped more than more than 3,600 people - families and individuals - find homes, address their mental and physical health issues, and reintegrate into their communities.

In 2023, Renaissance served more than 3,600 people throughout Chicago, including:

  • 2,186 individuals (911 households) who received resources to prevent homelessness;
  • 453 participants who lived in the agency’s permanent supportive housing, including 159 families;
  • 258 individuals who were rapidly re-housed; and,
  • 723 people living on the streets and in shelters who were connected to housing, health care, and/or behavioral services.

Renaissance offers this broad and depth array of services because the intersection between homelessness, housing instability, and behavioral health needs is broad and requires a continuum of services in order to be effective in meeting the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors.
