Are you passionate about empowering Black youth and strengthening our community? Black, Young and Empowered (B.Y.E.) is a non-profit organization dedicated to these causes. Our mission is clear: to equip Black youth with a comprehensive suite of personal, professional, and social-emotional development skills, enabling them to thrive in a complex world.
Volunteer Opportunities: We are seeking dedicated volunteers to join us in our mission. As a B.Y.E. volunteer, you'll have the chance to make a tangible impact on the lives of Black youth and contribute to building a brighter future. Here are some ways you can get involved:
- Assist with program coordination and event planning.
- Engage with our youth participants.
- Help manage our social media presence and website.
- Support administrative tasks and record-keeping.
- Offer your skills in areas like tutoring, or workshops.
- Foster community partnerships and outreach.
- Contribute your unique talents and ideas to our initiatives.
- Attend events.
- Coordinating fundraising events, writing grant proposals, donor outreach and developing donor materials.

We're dedicated to paving a way for them to not only navigate but conquer the complexities of their lives. Our goal isn't just to support them but to usher them towards realizing and fulfilling their life's purpose, ensuring that each one knows their inherent worth and boundless potential.
Description
B.Y.E. is here to empower Black youth by challenging historical limitations and providing comprehensive tools for personal and professional growth. We envision a world where every Black child's dreams are limitless, and their capabilities match those dreams. We offer programs to achieve this:
Goal 1: Financial Independence and Career Advancement
- Financial Empowerment Hub: Equips youth with financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills.
- Youth Job Creation and Training: Provides opportunities above entry-level positions for skill development.
Goal 2: Literacy Enhancement and Diverse Representation
- Reading Literacy Enhancement Program: Closes the reading literacy gap and promotes Black authors in curriculums.
Goal 3: Holistic Mental Health Enhancement
- Holistic Mental Wellness Program: Enhances mental well-being through yoga and meditation.
Goal 4: Performance and Film-making Excellence
- Performing Arts Empowerment Program: Cultivates talent in acting, musical theater, and film-making.
Goal 5: Global and Local Community Engagement
- Community Engagement and Global Citizenship Program: Nurtures civic responsibility and advocacy skills.
- Global Community Outreach: Provides international travel opportunities for service and cultural exchange.
- Community Improvement Initiatives: Supports locally-driven projects for community improvement.
