Share the love and comfort of your therapy dog or other therapy pet with our hospice patients!
Compassus Hospice is seeking friendly, registered therapy pets to join our team. Along with their compassionate handler, a therapy pet brings joy, peace and comfort to our hospice patients. Volunteers are a vital component of the hospice team and are greatly appreciated for the companionship and supportive presence that they provide to our patients at the end of their lives.
We have home patients as well as patients in assisted living facilities. The volunteer opportunity is flexible and based on your availability and the needs of the patient.
For the protection of our patients all pets MUST be certified through an approved pet therapy certifying organization, such as Pet Partners, Therapy Dogs International, AKC Therapy Dog Program and Alliance of Therapy Dogs. We can even help you get started with the process!

Description
Compassus hospice volunteers touch the lives of our patients every day! Whether it is providing companionship to a patient or reading to them, volunteers brighten the lives of the patients and families we serve. Whether you choose to work behind the scenes and complete clerical work or working one to one with patient and families, volunteers are valued members of our team. Volunteers receive free training at our local office or virtually via Zoom.
