The Medical Team Hospice is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals and their pet therapy animals to provide companionship and interaction with or patients who reside in assisted living buildings/residences. Our volunteers are indispensable key members of the Hospice care team. They share their time, talents and interests by providing comfort and support to our patients. The Medical Team Hospice provides comprehensive training and orientation to prepare you and support you. If you can give at least 5 hours a MONTH, we'd love to hear from you!!
The role of a pet therapy volunteer would be to spend quality time with our patients engaging them in conversation and/or activities with their pet therapy animal. Volunteers do not attend to personal care of our patients, so no skills in this area is needed.
