The Social Media Chair plays a vital role in building an online community for local engagement of PanCAN supporters. The Social Media Chair is critical for amplifying PanCAN’s national message, engaging with the local community, and raising local pancreatic cancer awareness through social media.

As the Social Media Chair, your primary focus is to support the different activities that are being implemented by the PurpleStride, Community, and Mission committees by raising awareness of their efforts on Facebook and Twitter/X. You will also monitor and engage with the local online community by answering questions, creating discussions, and events, and keeping your local online community up to date with any new PanCAN initiatives, announcements, or volunteer opportunities.

In your role, you will act as the social media moderator for your affiliate and provide strategic vision to develop an online community that is focused on engagement and driving awareness for PanCAN’s various programmatic initiatives.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to take bold action to improve the lives of everyone impacted by pancreatic cancer by advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge and advocating for patients.

Description

PanCAN was the first organization dedicated to fighting pancreatic cancer in a comprehensive way, and for more than two decades, we’ve grown a nationwide movement tackling the disease from all angles.

  • Research: We fund transformative research - everything from early detection to innovative new treatment approaches.
  • Patient Services: We provide information about treatment options, diet and nutrition, support resources and more, and we can answer all your questions along the way.
  • Advocacy: We work with thousands of grassroots advocates to urge Congress to increase federal research funding for pancreatic cancer, and we get results.
  • Community: Be part of our movement! You can volunteer locally, participate in a PurpleStride community event or host your own fundraiser.
