ORGANIZATION: The Medical Team Hospice

The Medical Team Hospice is seeking friendly and compassionate individuals along with their pet therapy animals to provide companionship and interaction with our patients who reside in an assisted living building/residence. This position requires the pet to already be certified as a pet therapy animal. Our volunteers are indispensable key members of the Hospice care team. They share their time, talents and interests by providing comfort and support to our patients and their families during the critical time. The Medical Team Hospice provides comprehensive training and orientation to support you in the challenges of working with Hospice patients. If you can give at least 5 hours A MONTH, please join our team!!

The role of a pet therapy volunteer would be to provide companionship to our patients who reside in an assisted living residence building. Volunteers do not attend to personal care of patients so no skills in this area is needed.
