Do you like interacting with happy people who are on vacation? Do you like learning about Maui's history? Are you a high school student who needs community service hours for graduation, or a Scout who needs a service badge? We have opportunities for you! The Sugar Museum is a 1902 plantation home in a beautiful little patch of green in Puunene, Maui, across from the historic HC&S mill. Here, people learn all about sugar history and plantation life.
Working at the front desk and gift shop entails greeting visitors, ringing up sales on Square platform, stocking shelves, pricing merchandise, folding brochures, keeping the lobby clean and tidy, and providing general all-around help as needed. You'll spend a little bit of time at both desks, so there is always variety. It's easy, fun, and we show you how!
Current schedule is Monday, 10-12 or 12-2, Tuesday, 10-12 or 12-2, Wednesday, 12-2, or Thursday, 12-2. The schedule is subject to change, so please inquire in advance.
See you at the museum!

Mission Statement
The Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum is a 501 c3 non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and presenting the history and heritage of the sugar industry and the multi-ethnic cultural heritage which it engendered.
Description
The story of sugar on Maui is told at the Alexander & Baldwin Sugar Museum. We are the main source for information on Maui's sugar history, and its multiethnic cultural heritage. We are located across from the historic 1902 Hawaiian Commercial & Sugar Company mill (now closed) in what was once the thriving plantation town of Pu'unene. The museum is housed in one of the few historic buildings remaining from that era and contains exhibits about one of the most significant and influential periods in the Islands’ history. It presents information about the sugar industry, depicts sugar’s influence on the development of Maui’s water resources, and describes plantation community life and the immigrants who came here from all over the world to work in the fields and mills. Outdoor exhibits feature large harvesting and mill equipment.
