How can you help?

Whether you are part of a chapter or not, you can hose a DYG donation drive and help the foster kid community! Email us to get started. By hosting a toy & book donation drive, you are responsible for the organizing the the drive. Look at the Donation Drives page on our website for information on how to host a donation drive and mail the items. Donations will be sent out to foster care centers. Feel free to reach out with any questions!

STEPS TO HOST A DONATION DRIVE

1) Find a Space for Donation Bin(s)
Host a donation drive at a nearby learning center, school, or mall. Make sure to inquire before showing up with a box to ensure all guidelines are followed. There must be enough space at the location to place at least one donation bin.

2) SHARE THE DRIVE!
Tell everyone you know about the drive so they can begin collecting their items to donate. Create flyers, posters, or join your local newsletter to inform people of your donation and what is or isn't allowed.

3) Start and End Dates
Set up a time period when people can begin donating. Ensure there is a hard start and end date. We recommend you keep the box out for at least a week for people to find the right time to donate.

4) Get to Donating!
When the donation drive begins, encourage others to donate to ensure your event is a success. We are excited to see what you come up with.
