YOU Life Skills and Leadership Educational Foundation is a relatively new 501(c)(3) organization that was founded by Annette Evans Wilson, a 20 year veteran English teacher in a low income, inner-city high school in Southern California.

While teaching, she discovered that when students who had previously been told "you can't" were taught to change the dialogue and say "maybe I can't, but I will" they soon learned that they could.

As she saw her students not only develop their own self-leadership skills, but take these skills into their families and their communities, she decided to use her retirement years to take these lessons to even more students, helping adolescents throughout the United States develop the skills embodied by the YOU program:
Lead Yourself
Reach Outward
Seek to Understand

Although her program has been well-received by private organizations, it has been difficult to obtain grants to bring this important program into schools and community organizations due to their lack of funds needed to hire a Grant Writer for this purpose.

Following a humanitarian trip to Tanzania opportunities have opened up to work with the schools in this African nation and grants are needed to pursue this opportunity as well.

YOU Life Skills and Leadership Educational Foundation is based in San Bernardino, California and as Executive Director, Annette Wilson and Operations Manager, Mark Wilson will work closely with Grant Writers either in person or via Zoom to accurately complete grant applications.

Thank you for your interest! We look forward to working with you on this important cause for teens and young adults.
