The Western Neuropathy Association (WNA) is a growing organization. We start and develop support groups for people with peripheral neuropathy throughout California, Oregon, and Nevada, develop relationships with members of the health care community, and support research to find a cure for neuropathy. We call peripheral neuropathy "The most common disease you've never heard of." Many people don't know there is a name for what they have. With an estimated 10 % of the population with this disease - diagnosed and undiagnosed, we know there are many people in each community with the disease.
The Santa Cruz Neuropathy Support Group meets on odd-numbered months at 12:30 PM on the 3rd Wednesday, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 420 Melrose Ave., Santa Cruz. There is a Leader who would like someone more to team with to develop the group. We hope that groups may start meeting again by September or October.

Mission Statement
Hope through caring and education - Our mission is to provide support, information and referral to people with neuropathy and to those who care about them, to inform and connect with the health care community and to support research. We need people to serve as group leaders in many communities in the Western States west of the Rocky Mountains.
Description
We are a California Non Profit Public Benefit Corporation which IRS deems to be tax exempt. We major in starting and developing support groups for people with peripheral neuropathy and those who care about them. In the process we endeavor to make connections with the health care community to better serve our members and to inform the health care community about "this mst common disease you've never heard of." With approximately 2 million people in California suffering from neuropathy, it is amazing how many people have never heard about it. Many know someone with the symptoms but may not know there is a name for this. We are led by a Board of Directors now numbering 6. These people have a variety of skills and contually upgrade the organization.
