ORGANIZATION: The Expanding Visions Foundation

Expanding Visions Foundation is looking for multiple volunteers, with a passion for helping kids, to teach alongside an EVF facilitator teaching high school students Career Readiness skills. We'll teach them how to interview, write resumes, perform self assessments and aspects of being a professional. The curriculum will be provided and we will work with a group of 10-20 students.

This is a one day workshop taking place at Ft. Hayes Career Center on Thursday, October 17th from 8:30am - 4:00pm. We will present in 4 rooms at the same time for an hour and half and students will have 4 rotations throughout the day for total of 16 hour and half time slots.

Mission Statement

The Expanding Visions Foundation employs proven coursework and relationships with employers in Central Ohio to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in the workplace.

Description

The Career Institute teaches students about the importance of professional development. Through lecture, mock interviews, and take-home exercises, students learn vital lifelong career skills. We train high school students, opportunity youth (ages 14-24) and adults. The curriculum is composed of three modules and volunteer facilitators are needed to help lead the instructions. Each Career Institute session is scheduled for 1.5 hours one day per week over the course of 8 weeks. Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a monetary reward along with items to help them be successful in the workforce.
