About Suncoast School for Innovative Studies

Location:

845 S. School Avenue, Sarasota, FL 34237, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Suncoast School for Innovative Studies is to celebrate and recognize each individual child so that all students will achieve their full intellectual and social potential. Family commitment to the learning process, as well as the use of multi-age groupings and multi-modality teaching, will help develop in each child a love of learning, the ability to engage in critical thinking and mastery of comprehensive academics. Families and the larger community will be partners in the achievement of the student.

Description

The Suncoast School for Innovative Studies (SSIS) motto is "Every student. Every Family. Every Day." Our charter, founded on Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences (MI), emphasizes more than EIGHT natural human gifts, and the belief that students learn through the process of discovery, embracing mistakes, and appreciating their own natural gifts. SSIS recognizes that not all children learn the same way, and we address this in our lessons, enrichment experiences, program offerings, and parent engagement opportunities.
