FSR Fresh is a Family Service Rochester initiative created in response to COVID-19 and community food insecurities. FSR receives food donations, orders food from organizations/grocery stores, and distributes food to local seniors. We are looking for volunteers to help pick up Channel One food order and deliver to our south office location. This is a much needed service, and you would play a VITAL role!
Details
- Pick-up/Delivery volunteers pick-up varying loads of ordered food from Channel One and deliver it to FSR South.
- Larger vehicle (SUV, etc.) recommended - the order is usually able to fit in a truck bed, the trunk of a cleaned-out car, or an SUV - usually 5 to 10 boxes, depending on what was ordered.
- Once the food donations are delivered to the south office, we do ask that the volunteer then places cold items into the Fresh refrigerator.
- Specific instructions will be provided to the registered volunteer prior to their shift.

- Order pick-up time: 8:30am on Wednesdays
- Order pick-up location: Channel One (131 35th St SE, Rochester, MN 55904)
- Delivery location: FSR South Office (1625 Highway 14 E, Rochester, MN 55904)

Family Service Rochester (FSR) is a community-based, nonprofit organization that provides a wide range of services addressing mental health, child wellbeing, family stability, and senior independence.
FSR was founded in 1965 with a staff of three and the mission to support and enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals and families in the community. From that small start-up offering counseling and homemaker services, the agency has grown to provide more than 30 programs to meet ever-changing community needs. Volunteers are vital to excellent service delivery to those individuals and families we work with.
