Social Worker
We are seeking a clinically licensed social worker to volunteer with ILHI to supervise our Educational program.
Responsibilities:
Providing support in ensuring that we are setting achievable goals
Providing services that benefit clients and the community
Determine the correct course of action when helping children in the program
Advocating and raising awareness on behalf of ILHI
Partnering and collaborating with parents, teachers and school administrators to ensure the safety of the children
Empathetic and supportive with mentorship and leadership skills
Support in creating a safe and accepting environment for students and their families
Requirements:
Licensed as a LCSW in the state of Michigan
Proficient in computer skills
Volunteer 5 hours per week of time as needed

Description
OUR PROGRAM ILH developed the Todays Youth program to enhance the self-esteem and teach life skills to youth and young adults who are learning-disabled and developmentally challenged. Youth with learning disabilities can lead enriched lives when they are in an environment that builds their self-confidence and skills. The self-esteem workshops and after-school tutorials are designed to help youth build positive self-esteem; identify emotional spirals; understand and apply effective conflict resolution; improve their proficiency in reading, writing, math, science, computer and study skills; and prepare them for reading and MEAP testing.
