Days: Wednesdays and Fridays during the school year.

Times:12:30 p.m. to 3:30 (4:00 p.m. on Fridays)

Location: Pick up and drop of Truck in Irwindale. Pick up food from 3 high schools and drop off the food in Glendora.

Physical demands: Volunteers will need to be able to lift up to 30 pounds and

be able to climb in and out of a box truck. (Two steps up to a 4

foot high truck bed.) Drivers will need to be able to load and

Unload 60-100 boxes of different sizes and weights.

Licensing Requirements: Drivers will need a valid Class C license. Drivers

should have a clean driving record. Drivers will

need to be record millage and preform a daily safety check

of the vehicle.

Description of Task: The driver will pick up a vehicle in Glendora and then proceed to 3 high schools in the Covina - West Covina area. The driver will check in at the schools offices and then go to the cafeterias, where they will find the donations of food. Drivers will then log and load the food into the truck and proceed to the next school. After all the food has been collected the driver will deliver the food either to our Glendora site on Wednesdays or the El Monte site on Fridays. After dropping off the food the truck driver will return the truck to the truck to the Glendora storage site. At the end of the run the driver will text log totals to the Operations Director.

Description

Shepherd's Pantry provides a much-needed service to the local community needing food support. Weekly we provide food, home-delivery, clothing, resource and emotional counseling, haircuts and tutoring services. With over 150 volunteers, our team puts the needs of our clients first as we help them with their needs.
