The Center for Early Intervention on Deafness (CEID) is looking for a Spanish-English language interpreter to support Family and Student Services provided in the East Bay.

We are looking for an upbeat candidate who can commit to two weekly sessions to support language access to families who speak Spanish as a primary language:

  1. Monday Evenings for a Parent Sign Language Class via Zoom from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.
  2. Wednesday Evenings for an in-person coaching session from 6:30 - 7:30 PM in Oakland, CA.

An ideal candidate can meet the following requirements:

  • Fluent in Spanish and English (Oral and written)
  • Access to reliable computer/internet services for Zoom sessions
  • Has reliable transportation to Oakland and Berkeley
  • Able to complete a background check and immunization compliance
  • Has an interest in supporting young children’s education, providing family services and broadening outreach
  • Available for on-call written translation support (transliterating reports, emails, and other communications to Spanish)

Our organization provides a variety of programs to communities. We offer Deaf and Hard of Hearing classes, a community daycare preschool program, and also run a successful audiology, development and volunteer program.

2 Shifts

  • evening / 06:00 PM to 07:00 PM
    Mondays (Remote)
  • evening / 06:30 PM to 08:00 PM
    60 - 90 minutes in Oakland, Wednesdays
