Recruiting Organization: Community Homestead

Come join us for 3 months to a year to add your talents, enthusiasm, friendship to this inter ability, intergenerational and very vibrant community in the beautiful St. Croix Valley. Learn how to garden on our 20 acre organic garden and orchard, how to milk cows, make cheese, bake bread, woodwork, and build community in a close knit, caring community of 7 households where everyone offers support to friends of all abilities on the team. Lots of opportunity for leadership and responsibility but attitude is more important than current skills: loving practical work, being part of something bigger than yourself makes for a good match. Come in the winter to be immersed in the crafts and winter social life or the summer for more agriculture and outdoor summer adventure (or ideally, both). This is a lifestyle rather than a job and no one here is salaried. All room and board is provided along with a shared budget for other needs. Longer term volunteers are provided with health insurance and loans are considered for support. You can apply as a single person or as a couple.
