Palestine and Israel in Context Internship Program 2025
The Palestine and Israel in Context Internship is an immersive program designed for undergraduate and graduate students, professionals, retirees, or anyone interested in understanding the complex political history and current realities of Palestine and Israel. This internship program, located in the West Bank, is particularly suited for students in the humanities and social sciences who seek a deeper, firsthand understanding of the Israeli/Palestinian situation.
By participating in this program, interns will have the unique opportunity to witness the effects of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict directly. Rather than relying on political headlines, interns will engage with everyday Palestinians, hearing their stories and learning about their lived experiences. This program welcomes students from various disciplines in the humanities, including political science, international relations, and nonprofit management, offering a genuine understanding of the region.
This internship is perfect for those pursuing Middle Eastern studies, Arabic studies, or Islamic studies. It provides an opportunity to immerse yourself in the realities of the occupation in the West Bank, meeting Palestinian individuals and families who live under Israeli military law. By engaging with local communities, participants will gain a deeper, contextual understanding of both historical and contemporary issues.
Interns will receive a tailored Arabic language course, three hours per week, designed to suit their proficiency level. Participants will have plenty of opportunities to practice their Arabic on a daily basis in natural settings-whether it's talking to locals, taking public transportation, or ordering food. This full immersion approach guarantees an enhanced linguistic and cultural experience, making it a unique opportunity for both language learners and political researchers.
This internship offers flexible durations ranging from 1 to 13 weeks, available throughout the year (spring, summer, fall, and winter). It is designed to accommodate students, professionals, or retirees who are looking for an in-depth, meaningful experience in Palestine, whether it’s during summer break, a sabbatical, or a long-term educational endeavor.
If you’re seeking a program that blends political research, cultural immersion, and language experience, the Palestine and Israel in Context Internship provides a comprehensive perspective on one of the world’s most challenging geopolitical issues.
