Bring joy and comfort to dying patients!
Pet Therapy volunteers have a certified therapy dog (or other animal). They provide friendly companionship to the dying, and support for their loved ones. At Lifespark we are devoted to helping seniors age and approach death with passion, purpose and dignity. Even if you are just curious, Katie would be glad to talk with you. We have a wonderful team and there are great opportunities for ongoing learning, discussion and self exploration.

About Lifespark

Location:

5320 W 23rd Street Suite #130, St. Louis Park, MN 55416, US

Mission Statement

Lifespark offers the alternative to a "sick care" system. We’ve seen far too many people experience the healthcare rollercoaster, when seniors are hospitalized, recover, and re-hospitalized a short time later. It’s a reactive form of treatment. Our model uses a proactive, whole person approach to address how seniors really want to live -- a richer, fuller, healthier, and "sparked" life.

Description

At Lifespark Hospice we help dying people make the most of their remaining time. End of life can be a time of emotional and spiritual healing, and purpose and peace, which is what we prioritize with our patients and their families. Volunteers are an important part of our care team and help enable us to give patients and families opportunities to make the most of their time together.

Do you like talking to people? Listening to music and looking through photo albums? Helping with everyday tasks? Then please consider becoming a Lifespark Hospice volunteer. As a volunteer, you bring more joy and meaning to a person’s day. You make life easier for the client (and their family) through your simple acts of kindness. And while you’re lifting their spirit, you fill your own heart as well.
