Do you feel a call to serve? Heartland Hospice is looking for spiritual volunteers to improve the quality of life for our patients suffering from advanced illness. Many of our patients have a strong faith and would appreciate beyond words any time you could spend at their bedside...praying, talking, comforting, and soothing them. Compassion is one of the greatest gifts we can share. If you are interested and wish to know more, please give us a call at 706-860-7374 and ask to speak with the Volunteer Coordinator.

The mission of Heartland Hospice is to provide quality hospice care to patients with a limited life expectancy, as well as support to their caregivers. The quality of life for those we serve is enhanced through palliative and specialized supportive care designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of the patients and caregivers.
Description
Hospice is a concept of care designed to provide comfort and support to patients and their families in the last phase of life. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on in a comfortable, pain-free manner so that their last months may be spent with dignity and quality. Hospice neither prolongs life nor hastens death. It provides its specialized knowledge of pain control, medical care, and psychological, emotional and spiritual support in a comprehensive manner, in an environment that includes family and friends.
