Please visit the new page to apply.
Volunteers not only make Golden Spike National Historical Park's reenactments come to life, they make them possible! The park's reenactments - a signature classic of the park's summer events - are a fun way to connect visitors to our park's stories and resources.
Volunteers will have a part with a short established script that may be memorized or read from a note card. The park will supply the necessary living history costuming.
Volunteers will be responsible for:
- Reenacting the Wedding of the Rails Ceremony to the visiting public.
- Ideally learning, practicing, and memorizing assigned roles to the point of recognizing when lines should be delivered and what actions to perform.
- Providing an engaging and accurate portrayal of their character
- Maintaining neat, clean, and presentable living history costumes.
- Maintaining a safe and professional working environment.
Volunteers may also be asked to assist with:
- Interpreting the park's stories and resources
- Interacting with and answering general visitor questions
- Preparations for major park events
